Day 12: October 1 – Leaving Lofoten and On to Oslo

In true fashion, I’ve left my packing until today.  I did laundry the other day, so I have clean cloths to put in my suitcase.  I did a general clean-up in the house – floor swept, dishes washed and put away, plants watered, etc.  I went out to fuel up the car and, on the way back I stopped along the road for a last photo, then stopped for a final visit with tante Arna.

It’s kinda sad to be leaving Lofoten, but I’ll have a couple of days visiting in Oslo and really looking forward to getting home on Wednesday.

Morning Panoramic – The Last Look

Ingbritt had arranged for a friend \to pick me up at 12:30 to take me to the airport in Leknes.  I managed to get a couple of shots from the plane as we took off from Leknes.

You Can See Sennesvik in the Crotch Between Ramsviktinden (mountain on the left) and Ramntinden (on the right) and Steine in the Background

Mountains: Ureberget (foreground), Steintinden (next one on the left) and Manfellet (lower mountain). Stamsund Harbour at the Base of Mannfalllet.

I flew from there to Bodø, had a 1 hour stopover before my 1.25 hr. flight to Oslo with SAS.  I took the train from Gardermoen, the Oslo airport, to the central train station, a 25 minute ride.  My cousin, Even, picked me up there and we drove to his house.  I’m spending 2 nights here with he and Grethe.

They had prepared a lasagna and salad dinner, which was excellent, and then we caught up on each others’ lives over tea/coffee and a really good apple pie.

I ended this tiring day with a FaceTime call to Bonnie.
