Our final day in Oslo! We’re going home!
We took advantage of our free breakfast at the Plaza Hotel and a very good breakfast it was. We then checked out of the hotel, walked back to the train station and caught the 9:40 train to the airport.
We had only 1 hiccup at the airport: I was charged for an overweight bag….$250!!! I’ll be taking that up with Aeroplan first thing Monday morning. As a Star Alliance Gold member, I was under the impression that I was allowed 3 bags @ 70 lbs. ea. and I had one at about 60. C’est la vie…..we were on the way home.
The flight to Frankfurt was uneventful and, although the flight departure to Toronto was delayed about 45 minutes, we arrived only 15 minutes late. We were the last ones off the plane, but since we were joined up with Randi with her wheelchair service, we were taken by motor cart to Customs and fast tracked through Customs. Then we separated – Randi was off to gate G11 for her flight to Moncton, while Bonnie and I headed to the luggage area. Our bags were there when we arrived, so all we had to do was pick up the Valet Park ‘n Fly shuttle to pick up our car drive home.
The traffic flowed well all the way home, so we arrived on schedule at 10:00 PM.
Home at last!
PS: We just found out in a phone conversation with Randi that she missed her 9:00 PM flight to Moncton, even though the plane was still at the gate. She got on the next flight at 10:00.
