Yup, rain all day. We didn’t get the thunder storms that were forecasted, but it was wet. As a result, a slow day. We took our time with everything – getting up, breakfast, showering, lunch, etc. That put the morning behind us & we were a couple of hours into the afternoon when we cued up the DVD player to watch the last of the movie series: The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest. It was really good; the whole series was.
So, after that, more of doing not much, although I did go outside to get one shot with the rain clouds over Foiano & a couple around the gardens.
David had made a 7:30 dinner reservation for us at Ristorante Il Goccino Enoteca, in Lucignano, where Bonnie wants to live. She’s already picked out our home, well the doors to it anyway. It was an excellent dinner for everyone – scallops, potato ravioli, zucchini, steak, lamb chops, quail &, yes, another bottle of red wine for the 3 winos. David must have told them not to rush us, which is the way it’s usually been in the restaurants here, but we sure weren’t rushed. Others had come & gone & we were still eating.
Back at La Colonica, it was more kicking back & taking it easy. Cheryl found the Blue Jays/ Texas Rangers deciding game on her iPad, so we listened to that as we read & wrote this blog.
The weather forecast looks good for tomorrow, so the plan is to hit an open market in a Camucia, near Cortona, & then on Castiglione, which is where we arrived on the train.
Damn, tomorrow is our last full day here!
